Ember McMenemy

Research Assistant

Ember is a research associate with a focus on using gamification techniques to influence behaviour or learning. Central to Ember's focus is the utilisation of gamification to positively impact environmental, sustainability and social issues through behavioural change. Her current work uses Android applications to reach and effect a wide audience and seeks to empower sustainable decision-making within those users.

Much of her research involves bringing in the knowledge and expertise of collaborators such as the University’s industrial or research partners into practical development. Examples of research partners include logistics experts (improving driving eco-performance with gamification) and risk management researchers (gamifying evacuation training for volcanic eruptions in Merapi).
