Dr Collins Osei

Associate Professor of Marketing

Dr Osei joined the Edinburgh Business School in 2024. Prior to this, he worked in different capacities in universities in Ghana, England and Scotland. He joined Heriot-Watt University from Edinburgh Napier University, where he taught in Edinburgh, Hong Kong and online. He led and taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For several years, he was the programme leader for the BA (Hons) Marketing Management programme delivered in Hong Kong, leading the programme through local education authority reaccreditation. He also led the BA (Honours) Marketing with Digital Media (Hong Kong) through accreditation before stepping down to become the deputy programme leader.

Collins served on the Research Degree and the International Operations committees. He was also the faculty academic lead for international students articulation. He has supervised doctoral students to successful completion, and he has experience as a doctoral examiner

Background

Dr Collins Osei is an Associate Professor in International Marketing at the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. He received his PhD in Marketing from Edinburgh Napier University and MBA (Marketing) from University of Leicester. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (UK). He has extensive experience in higher education in the UK, Ghana and Hong Kong. He is the course leader for International Marketing, and he is also currently involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has delivered guest lectures nationally and internationally.

Collins’ research interests cut across disciplines, and he has publications in journals, books and conference proceedings. His recent publications have focused on international marketing agility, entry modes such as export and foreign direct investment, country of origin, destination branding and consumer behaviour. He is currently researching business failures, international students’ transition, public health, social enterprise, ethics and sustainability.
