Nhan Nguyen

Nhan Nguyen was awarded a fully-funded PhD scholarship in Business Management at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University under the supervision of Dr.Yen Tran and Prof. Babak Taheri. Nhan’s PhD study is looking in detail at the impact of international business on innovation performance of emerging market SMEs and start-ups through mixed-methods research. The first two quantitative studies aim to identify what specific international activities can affect innovation performance of Asian emerging market SMEs while the final qualitative study aims to explore how international activities can influence innovation performance by looking at the learning process of tech start-ups engaging in international business.

Nhan received his Maastricht MBA in 2011 while working at Ericsson Vietnam (2005 - 2012), where he held various roles including: Performance and Configuration Management, Knowledge Centered Support Coach and Customer Support Management.  

He then obtained IMA’s CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification in January of 2013 and passed CFA Level 1 in December, 2014. From 2014 to 2018, he was a full-time researcher for the Centre for Economic and Financial Research, Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, and a visiting lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Sunderland University (UK) and Smart Train Professional Education.
