An innovative way to study for a degree

We work together with Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to deliver Graduate Apprenticeships (GAs) - "learn while you earn” degrees focused on work-based and work-relevant learning.

SDS has developed the Graduate Apprenticeship programme, in consultation with industry and the further and higher education sectors, to provide work-based learning opportunities up to degree level.

Work-based learning means that activities in the workplace count towards the degree in terms of learning and assessment. So GAs are not like trying to do a degree as well as doing a full-time job - they are integrated so that work counts toward the degree and the degree contributes towards work. In this way, the degree is completed in the same 4 years as a full-time traditional degree programme in Scotland (for Bachelor with Honours).

Graduate Apprenticeships are open to employed people in sectors funded by Skills Development Scotland.

The places are fully funded so there is no charge, to either employer or apprentice, for the degree programme.
