MSc logistics and supply chain management (2020)

What made you choose to study at Heriot-Watt?
I searched for an international university which is famous in the logistics and supply chain field. Heriot-Watt is a choice that mostly matched with my criteria in terms of course, university ranking, cost and scholarship, university environment and city, and alumni society.

Why did you choose to study logistics and supply chain management in particular?
According to my career goal, I want to step up my knowledge and career path to be a university lecturer in logistics and supply chain management in Thailand - because this field can potentially help to develop my country and I also like this subject.

What's your favourite or most memorable memory of your time as a Heriot-Watt student?
I had a chance to live in campus accommodation and that was one of my favourite times. This accommodation had many good neighbours who shared cooking time together, good vibes to sleep or study in my room, and student services when I forgot my key!

How would you summarise your time studying logistics and supply chain management at the Edinburgh Business School?
This course offered a new perspective and knowledge for Asian students like me, helping me see the future trend of my country. I had to read many articles and always reflect back to my past experience as well. My research supervisor and lecturers were very welcoming and nice to talk to and they provided good recommendations and follow up. Moreover, the study time at the library or learning common area was a good vibe for learning.

Tell us about your career since graduating from Heriot-Watt?
I work for Pomelo Fashion, which is a start-up company and e-commerce business. My position is to monitor carrier performance on the last mile logistics for business-to-consumer in Thailand, Asian and global countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. Also, I handle any issues on the reverse logistics to distribution and fulfilment centre.

How has your Heriot-Watt University education contributed to your success?
Not only can I use new solutions and knowledge of last mile delivery to create a mini project when I was interviewed for Pomelo – I was also able to pitch ad hoc projects to implement a new delivery solution.

What advice do you have for current students?
Cheer up! Your wellbeing is very important to help you walk through any difficulties. You may be suffering sometimes but when you flash back, you are the winner.

What is your lasting impression of Heriot-Watt University?
My supervisor Dhanan. I am highly appreciative of how he supported me and guided my dissertation.

What are your aspirations for the future?
I would like to be a lecturer in logistics and supply chain because I can share my knowledge and experiences to contribute to a new generation and contribute to my country in the right way.
