Heriot-Watt University seeks to appoint new independent lay members to its governing body, the Court, and to a number of committees of the Court. A few vacancies currently exist and more positions will be available from 1 August 2018 and beyond.

We value equality and diversity and will welcome expressions of interest from a diverse range of individuals (from the perspective of gender, ethnicity, age and other characteristics).

Heriot-Watt is a distinctive, leading international university with campuses in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders, Orkney, Dubai and Malaysia. We plan to build on our established reputation and track record of success, and will deliver an exciting new strategic plan from 2018. The University leads in science, engineering, technology, social sciences and design, with a clear vision and ambitions to deliver excellence in our teaching and research. We recognise that our success depends on the strength of our governing body. Its independent lay members bring a wide variety of perspectives, valuable skills, knowledge and experience to the work of our Court and its Committees.

We are interested to hear from individuals who are able to offer expertise acquired in a wide range of sectors, e.g. industry, business, local government, the voluntary sector or sectors which have a working association with higher education.
