There are 18 Wardens on the Edinburgh Campus and 5 Wardens at the Borders Campus. The wardens are there primarily for the welfare of their students. Each Hall will have either one or two wardens depending on the size of the Hall. You should make sure that you know where your warden is based. Wardens are an excellent source of information about the campus and can advise you where best to get further support and advice if you need it.
Wardens are usually students and are trained and supported by staff in Student Support and Accommodation.
A secondary role of wardens is to maintain discipline within the Halls.
Wardens are usually recruited in March of each year. If you are interested in becoming a warden pleases email us at studentsupport@hw.ac.uk and we will let you know when the recruitment process begins.
