Counselling and support
Being a student can be a very positive experience but there are also many challenges to deal with such as being away from home, being in a new country, exam pressures and building new relationships with friends. These can be even harder if you have had problems in your past. If you are worried about any issue or about dropping out of University we can offer you counselling, support, and information to help you deal with the difficulties you may face. Click on the link on the left to get more information on common problems.
Professional counselling
We offer a professional counselling service at the Edinburgh campus. Students are generally seen by appointment. Anyone wishing to use the counselling service can come into the office or call ext. 3386. The counsellors are Morag Patten and Kenny Boyd. The Senior Counsellor, Morag Patten receives all referrals and requests for counselling and can be contacted directly by email.
Students at the Borders Campus should contact the Student Support Officer, Eleanor Drummond.
