There is a nursery based on the Edinburgh Campus that students can use. It is run by an independent company called Pinocchio’s and is fully registered with the Care Commission.
It is a good idea to contact the nursery as early as possible to discuss your child care needs as there can often be a waiting list. Visit Pinocchio's website to get more information about the nursery and the fees that are charged.
There is no nursery on the Borders Campus. However, there is a recommended day nursery called Scotia Kids adjacent to the Campus which can cater for the children of students and staff. It caters for children from 3 months upwards and does out of school care as well for older children.
When considering your child care options it is important to make sure that any nursery or child minder is registered with the Care Commission. You can get information about registered nurseries and carers in Edinburgh and the Borders from Scottish Childcare.
You may be eligible for help with child care fees through the Child Care Fund. Students wishing to apply must be home students who are fulltime, undergraduate and eligible for student loan support. Students must have applied for the maximum student loan available. Come into Student Support and Accommodation to find out more.
