Student residences
The newer student residences such as Robert Bryson Hall, Leonard Horner Hall, George Burnett Hall, Robin Smith Hall, Lord Home Hall, and Lord Thomson Hall all have recycling facilities in their refuse rooms. The older residences such as Linlithgow, Caddon, Pentland, Midlothian, Yarrow, and Ettrick only have outside glass and can recycling bins.
Materials recycled
The University also recycles computer equipment, lamp bulbs, light tubes, batteries, printer and toner cartridges and fluorescent tubes. If you can see it, you can recycle it!
Recycling Rules:
- Please sort your waste before you bin it!
- Please fold cardboard flat for recycling and break down boxes.
- White paper should be placed in white bags.
- Clear bags should be used for plastic cups and bottles, and cans.
- Coloured paper, newspaper, junk mail and magazines should be deposited in the council bins.
Please remember that using black bags means no recycling, and the content ends up as general waste.
