Navneet Kumar: Fashion & Textiles Management

1st year

Student profile: Navneet Kumar

After graduating from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Gandhinagar, India, I worked for a year in an export house where I decided to go for higher studies. I started looking for universities in UK and I found Heriot-Watt was one of the best known in the field of fashion and textiles. Scotland being famous for its history in textiles also adds to the environment.

My masters course has not only organised my academic research but has helped me organise my personal life as well. The programme has encouraged me to explore my area of research in a very structured manner.

The resource centre in the library is huge and the access to world-class resources like Mintel and WGSN makes it the best around.

The student group is vibrant with people from different backgrounds and regions of the world. This makes the environment very rich and diverse in culture. We also celebrate Indian festivals like Dipawali and Holi with the local community.
