Anelda Grove: Economics
I am a final year Economics student and have really enjoyed doing my degree here at Heriot-Watt. My area of interest lies in Development Economics particularly in Southern Africa. My dream job would be to work for an NGO doing policy and advocacy work.
My student experience
Heriot-Watt has given me a great student experience and I would not exchange my time here with time at any other university.
The Economics department is relatively small with great student-staff relationships, which really enhance our learning experience. We also have two societies within the School of Management & Languages (SML): the SML and Economics societies. Both of these organise a wide range of events with the SML society offering great social events and the Economics society offering events that are more geared towards what economists do and the different areas we can find ourselves working after graduation.
Why I chose Heriot-Watt
I chose Heriot-Watt in Edinburgh because I wanted to experience life in a beautiful vibrant city
I chose Heriot-Watt in Edinburgh because I wanted to experience life in a beautiful vibrant city that has a lot to offer for all the students that choose to make it their home for the duration of their studies.
The campus has great facilities and beautiful grounds and we love to be in the sunken garden when the sun comes out.
I would really recommend studying Economics at Heriot-Watt. We have passionate lecturers, great students and a beautiful campus. All the things you need for a fantastic student experience.
