These scholarships provide full university fees and maintenance costs of around £13,000 per annum for a maximum of three years. Students must be undertaking research in a field of relevance to the built environment. Three such awards are made each year based on the merit of the applicants.

Unsuccessful applicants for a James Watt Scholarships are automatically considered for a Fees Only Scholarship.

Applications for scholarships for Postgraduate Research study would be decided on merit after an application for full time PhD study has been made. To apply for the scholarships above, applicants should note any funding for which they would like to be considered on the Application for Postgraduate Study and Research against Question 16a and 16b in the first instance.
