Self-catered flats at Edinburgh Campus
We have 35 self-catered shared flats in halls called Ettrick, Caddon and Yarrow. These are usually reserved for postgraduate students.
The single bedrooms are around 7 square metres in size. The large rooms are 11.5 square metres. These rooms do not have wash basins.
Each flat has kitchen, living and bathroom areas that are shared between 5 students.

How to apply
You can apply online for on-campus accommodation from 16 April 2013. The closing date for guaranteed on-campus accommodation is 5.00pm, 22 August 2013.

What’s included in the rent?
The rent includes:
- internet connection (16MB as standard)
- heating
- power
- personal effects insurance with a maximum total claim of £3,000 per year (you may need to take out extra insurance to cover an expensive item or to cover your laptop on other parts of the campus)
If you plan on using a personal television or a laptop for internet provider television (IPTV), you will need to buy a TV licence.
What's provided in a self-catered shared flat?
Your room key gives access to your designated lounge, kitchen and laundrette.

Bed linen, duvet and pillows are not provided, but you can order a bedding pack online for £25 when making your application.

Refuse sacks are issued weekly so that you can safely dispose of refuse in the appropriate recycling bins
The cleaning service is an “assisted clean”, which means you are expected to maintain cleaning standards in your own flat.
