Catering

While the teaching staff will provide you with food for the mind, the on-campus catering offers you all sorts of nourishing dishes and snacks to sustain your busy life on-campus. If you are looking for a breakfast to set you up for the day, a quick snack between lectures or an evening meal, you will not be disappointed. All of these options are wholesome, tasty, convenient and excellent value for money.

Our catering facilities have achieved the Healthy Living Award from the Scottish Consumer Council, in recognition of our work to promote healthy eating choices. Our experienced chefs are always responsive to special dietary needs and will ensure that if you are vegetarian, vegan or require a gluten free or Halal meal, you will be well catered for.

Central Dining Room

Our main student dining room is open for a full breakfast to a 3-course lunch or dinner 7 days a week. All tastes are catered for here and everything is made fresh on a daily basis. We also have a great salad bar and offer a selection freshly filled sandwiches and baked potatoes.

Opening times: Monday–Friday, 7.30am–10.00am, 11.45am–2.00pm, 5.15pm–7.00pm.

The Elements

The Elements is a contemporary, informal and multi-functional social space incorporating bar, eating and lounge areas for use by students, staff and visitors. It serves an unbeatable range of made-to-order filled sandwiches, rolls and breads. It also offers a selection of cakes and pastries, and a great range of quality teas and coffees.

Opening times: Monday–Friday, 8.30am–3.00pm.

  • Open from 17—21 June 2013 for Graduation week
  • Open July and August 2013 to cater for Go and Isis (Summer Schools) students only

Cafe Brio

Our continental style cafe bar offers a wide range of hot and cold snacks and beverages available throughout the day. It’s popular at lunchtimes for its homemade soup, baked potatoes with a great choice of fillings, toasties and Panini.

Opening times: Monday–Friday, 7.30am–9.00pm
(Breakfast served 7.30-10.00am)

The Piece

The Piece is a fast-paced coffee bar, serving a range of snacks and beverages and the best slices of pizza on campus! You’ll find it next to lecture theatres 1 and 2. It’s open throughout both semesters.

Opening times: Monday–Friday, 8.30am–6.00pm*

* Open until 8.00pm when Summer Schools are in progress. 

Da Vinci’s at the Postgraduate Centre

Da Vinci’s continental style cafe bar is situated on the ground floor of the Postgraduate Centre. Serving a wide range of hot and cold beverages, as well homemade soup, nutritious baked potatoes with a great choice of fillings, and toasted panini.

Opening times: Monday–Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm.

Dewey’s at the library

Dewey’s coffee bar is located in the ground floor area of The Library and offers a great range of coffees and light snacks. It's open 7 days a week during semester.

Opening times: Monday–Friday, 9.00am–7.00pm.

The Bistro at Edinburgh Business School

Make your way to The Bistro at Edinburgh Business School for that special lunch. Everything on the menu is freshly prepared by our award-winning chef and offers great value for money. Lunch is served between 12.00pm and 2.00pm.

Opening times: Monday–Friday, 9.00am–3.00pm.
