Catered rooms with en suite at Edinburgh Campus
In addition to the self-catered rooms in Leonard Horner Hall, we are now offering catered rooms with en suite facilities. These rooms are a new addition to our on campus accommodation and are not detailed in our Rooms for Rent booklet.
Single rooms are around 10 to 12 square metres in size, including the private bathroom. There are also a few large rooms available that are around 13 to 14 square metres and come with a double bed. All rooms are for single occupancy.
There is small pantry in the hall with a fridge, kettle and microwave where hot drinks and some snacks can be prepared. Please note that cooking equipment such as kettles and personal fridges are not permitted in the rooms.
Catering
The catered rooms come with a weekly food allowance of £40 per week. This allowance is allocated onto a catering card at the beginning of each semester and can be used to purchase meals and snacks at any of the University's catering outlets on the campus.
- The weekly catering fee is not charged from Saturday 21st December 2013 to Friday 10th January 2014, when campus catering outlets are closed for the Christmas break.
- Catering credit cannot be carried forward after the end of each semester.
- Catering cards cannot be used to purchase alcoholic beverages or at the Students' Union.
- The weekly catering fee does not represent a set number of meals per week and may need to be subsidized depending on rate of consumption.
