Hockey Club
Introduction & club history
The Hockey Club has 4 teams (2 men's and 2 ladies teams) competing in the British Universities & College Sports (BUCS) leagues on a Wednesday. The men's 1st team compete in Scottish League 1A and has been very competitive over recent years consistently finishing in the top 2. The 2nd team compete in League 4A and narrowly missed out on promotion last year. The ladies 1st team provide a competitive standard of hockey in League 3A whilst the 2nd team provide the opportunity for more social / recreational hockey competing in League 6A.
An amalgamation with Inverleith Hockey Club in the 2007–08 season has helped to develop the club further. The partnership has seen a number of Heriot–Watt students playing for the Edinburgh side at both national and regional level. If you are interested in joining IHC then contact one of the Club Committee Members, to find out appropriate training times. The Sports Union supports the partnership and pay for your SHU and East District Memberships which is a saving of almost £40.
