Introduction & club history

We currently have two mens teams and one ladies team competing in the British Universities Leagues (BUCS) and one mens and one ladies team operating in the Lothian Basketball league.

With continued support from the members we hope to grow as a club and gain interest not only from HWU students but people in our local community.

What does a typical season involve?

The mens and ladies first teams both currently compete in BUCS 2A with the mens second team competing in BUCS 4A.

Training times & games

  • Tuesday 8.15 - 9.45pm (Ladies)
  • Wednesdays 4.15 –6.15pm (Non-Game Days Only)
  • Friday 5.15 - 6.45pm (Ladies)
  • Saturday 10.15am–12.15pm (1st Team men only)
  • Sunday 3.15–5.15pm (Open for all mens players)
  • BUCS Fixtures Wednesdays
  • Lothian League Division 1 games (normally Sunday) 

How do I join the club?

Sign up and pay for your gym and basketball club membership at the Sports Centre Reception or via our new online system. The cost of joining the club is £10 which gives you access to the general team training and social side. An additional £15 is due for anyone selected for the teams. Both are payable at reception.
