Classes are available to suit all members, from young, fresh-faced freshers to lively members in their prime.
All classes are taught by highly qualified instructors who aim to help you achieve your goals and have a laugh.

Fitness class descriptions
This is an abdominal workout with a focus on core strength and stability to improve your posture, training technique, ability, and body shape! The workout will take you through a brief whole body warm-up before moving to mat work for a series of exercises.
This is a fast-paced flowing yoga class following the traditional Ashtanga Primary Series sequence of postures. This style of yoga integrates a heat building breathing technique with flowing yoga postures to quickly build strength, stamina, fitness and flexibility. A basic level of fitness is recommended for this class, although the pace will be adjusted to suit the participants at each class. You may wish to bring a towel with you as you’ll probably build up a sweat!
Bootcamp is a hardcore interval class that includes cardio and strength training intervals. These classes will be held outside on the rugby training area adjacent to the academy building, so wear sensible clothing and footwear and bring water.
Bokwa is the new up-and-coming dance fitness programme comprised of cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength and flexibility. This class is energetic, exciting, exuberant and exhilarating and consistently remains challenging. It is tailored for every individual, however, so don’t be shy!
Boxercise is based on training principles that have existed for over 200 years. The class is a fun form of exercise that is an addictive, safe and stress-busting workout suitable for all ability levels.
This class is designed to improve your muscular strength using a series of upper and lower body stations combined with a series of cardio intervals. It starts with a group warm-up and ends with a 20 minute abs blast and stretch.
For those of you that have attended our Abs Blast class this is an extended version. It's an opportunity to really tone the tummy muscles and increase the core strength, just in time for the summer holidays.
Cycle Fit classes are a great way to get you fit through a vigorous workout by burning calories and keeping your muscles in shape whilst pedalling to some great tunes.
This fun class consists of easy to follow upbeat aerobic and dance exercises, followed by step-by-step dance moves to build up to a routine! Each week, enjoy a different style of popular and fun dances (i.e. Disco, Hip Hop, Salsa, Jazz) to your favourite songs!
A mix between Zumba and good old fashioned aerobics!!!! Whether you have 2 left feet, 2 right feet or one of each you are guaranteed to love this class!
Early Birds Yoga
Start your day with a stretch! We will use sun salutation sequences to awaken the body, mind and breath. A combination of hip, shoulder and back openers to prepare you for the day ahead.
A HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) session consists of a warm up which is followed by 15 to 20 minutes of high intensity interval training followed by a cool down. These classes are designed to make you work at near maximum intensity to help you improve your fitness, lose weight and feel great!
This class is a yoga inspired class that is designed to increase the strength and flexibility in your muscles with a focus on your core strength and stability
This is a slower paced yoga class with a focus on building flexibility and alignment in the body. In addition to physical yoga postures, we will also learn specific breathing and relaxation techniques. This class is suitable for all ages, levels of fitness and flexibility.
Kettlebells have been about for a long time in strength training and like a good outfit they are now back in fashion. They are used to increase the strength in the muscles but you will also get a great CV workout as well so bring on the fat burning and muscle toning.
A great way to learn about all Latin dance styles. A class that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
This class incorporates balance, flexibility, strength and stability using the concepts of fitness and drawing on pilates and yoga. It is suitable for both the beginner and the more experienced fitness enthusiast as each session takes the individual from where they are to their own new level.
A fast paced, aerobic style of yoga that builds strength, stamina, muscular endurance, balance, focus and flexibility. We use sequences of vinyasa to flow from one yoga pose to another coordination movement with the breath. Classes usually have a focus on building flexibility in different key areas of the body like the hips or shoulders. We learn to control the breath throughout the practice by using a technique called Ujjayi breath or throat breath. This class is ideal for cross-training.
This class will teach you all the salsa steps so you can impress your friends at party nights! The dances are partner dances, but don't worry if you don't have a partner as participants are rotated during the class.
Strength and Conditioning
These classes are based in the Strength and Conditioning Centre and they are an opportunity for you to train with a strength and conditioning coach. If you want to improve your lifting technique, learn how to use weights for the first time or just want support and guidance whilst you train, then this is the session for you!
Stretch 'n' Bend
This 30 minute class is designed to stretch some of those tight muscles. This class predominantly uses freestyle yoga moves to lengthen and strengthen the muscles. It is the ideal opportunity to chill-out at lunchtime before heading back to work.
Lee Style T'ai Chi is a sequence of slow martial art movements performed in a standing position that exercises all parts of the body, massages the internal organs and builds suppleness and fitness gradually. It also gives relaxation, better balance, calmness, and stress relief. T’ai Chi is a discipline that is slow to learn, but which stays with you throughout your lifetime.
Total Body Pump
These sessions provide you with a whole body approach to conditioning using a range of equipment from the standard dumbbells to the more ridiculous paper plates. This class is designed to increase muscular strength and tone and get your heart rate up. A great class for those that want too see a change in their body shape.
The Zumba® programme fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a unique and exciting calorie-burning, body-energising fitness programme. Routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.
This is class is just like our Zumba classes but designed specifically for our older adults. So dust of your trainers and shimmy yourself down to our brand new class.
As the name suggests this class is for our over 50 members. The class is designed to improve fitness, strength and flexibility.
