Who should apply for Scottish Crucible 2013?
Scottish Crucible is looking for 30 talented researchers in science, technology, engineering, medicine, arts, design, languages, humanities, business, social and political science with a high level of achievement and an ongoing commitment to a career in research in Scotland (within academia or industry). We're particularly interested in senior postdocs, academic fellows and new lecturers who have an interest in science and society beyond their own research. More than that, we want people who are prepared to embrace new and challenging thinking.
Application Procedure
Read the Scottish Crucible 2013 Guidance Notes. Download and complete the Scottish Crucible 2013 application form. Email it with a copy of your CV to The Royal Society of Edinburgh at resfells@royalsoced.org.uk. Remember to put 'Scottish Crucible 2013 Application' in the subject line of the email. You should receive an email acknowledgement of receipt within 48 hours. If you haven't heard from us that we have received your application, please email to enquire.
Deadline
The deadline for receipt of applications is noon on Monday 18th March 2013.
Applications will be reviewed by a specially convened Selection Panel and all applicants notified of the results of the competition by mid April 2013.
Summary of Award
All residential costs, including accommodation and catering, and costs for all sessions in the three Scottish Crucible LABs, will be provided for successful Scottish Crucible candidates. Travel expenses to cover travel costs to and from each participant's home in Scotland to the location of each Scottish Crucible LAB will be paid (up to a value of £100 per return journey).
