Food Science

Food Science within the Biology Programme encompasses
academic staff with research interests in food microbiology (Dr Dewar and Dr Mitchell), proteins as food ingredients (Dr Campbell and Dr Euston), molecular nutrition and micro-nutrients (Dr Panagiotidis and Dr Schweizer) and plant biotechnology (Dr Morris).

Together with staff from ICBD, Food Science was graded 4 in the last Research Assessment Exercise: top in Scotland.

Food Science provides excellent career opportunities in both the technical and managerial contexts and our recent graduates are employed in a range of positions within the food and health industries as well as in academia.
