Postgraduate programmes

The School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society is a research-intensive school providing a range of postgraduate opportunities.

You will find that the School offers a dynamic environment where cutting-edge research is a key focus which shapes our postgraduate programmes and influences the learning and teaching here.

We also enjoy strong links with industry through programme advisory committees, membership of professional bodies, mentoring schemes and guest lecturers. These links ensure that our postgraduate programmes are relevant to industry needs and address current issues in the sector.

You can study our programmes on our Edinburgh campus, either full-time or part-time, while for those based outside of Scotland a number of our programmes can be studied at Heriot-Watt University's Dubai and Malaysia campuses. Another study option we offer is Independent Distance Learning (IDL) which offers great flexibility, and is ideal for those wishing to further their academic qualifications while in full-time employment.

The Centre of Excellence has a portfolio of ten taught postgraduate programmes, including Architectural Engineering, Construction Project Management and Urban & Regional Planning.
