Heriot-Watt University holds graduation ceremonies in Edinburgh, Galashiels (for Scottish Borders Campus students) and also in other international locations.
You can elect to graduate at the appropriate ceremony for your School/Institute in June/November, or at one of our international ceremonies.
If you elect to graduate at one of our international ceremonies, the ceremony will follow the same format as those taking place in Edinburgh and you will be required to wear full academic dress (gown and hood). Your award will be conferred and your certificate will be presented to you in person.
You will also have the opportunity to have a commemorative photograph taken of you receiving your award and a group photograph with your fellow graduates. You can also arrange to have official photographs taken with your friends and/or family before or after the ceremony.
After the ceremony, you and your guests are invited to attend a reception. The reception will last approximately one hour.
For further information on all our international ceremonies below please click on the appropriate link on the menu to the left of this page.
Note: If you indicate at the time of application that you wish to attend one of these ceremonies and then decide not to attend or find that you can not attend, you will be eligible to graduate in absentia on the date of the international ceremony. Your award will be conferred at the ceremony and your certificate will be mailed to you as soon as possible afterwards.
