Heriot-Watt University is holding two graduation ceremonies in Dubai on 20 November 2013 at the InterContinental Hotel and Resort (Festival City).

How to Apply
You must complete and return a graduation application form by 24 May 2013 (please see links below). If you do not apply by this date, you may not be able to graduate. You will NOT receive written confirmation when you submit your application form.
Eligibility
Students are required to apply to graduate before they receive their final results. However, please ensure that you are eligible to graduate by checking your results online, if you do not receive an award decision permitting you to graduate you will not be able to attend the ceremony or graduate in absentia on 20 November 2013 even if you have applied to graduate.
Outstanding Debt
Any student who has outstanding fees or charges to pay, has any outstanding library book loan or debt to the Students' Union will not be permitted to graduate from the University until such time as debts are settled appropriately. You are therefore advised to settle any outstanding debts by 11 October 2013. Students who have not settled their accounts by that date will not be permitted to graduate in November 2013. Guest tickets
You must indicate how many guest tickets you require on the graduation application form. Guest tickets will NOT be posted out but will be available to collect from the venue on the day of the ceremony. Tickets entitle guests to attend the ceremony and the reception afterwards. Graduands do not require a ticket.
Children
Children are welcome to attend, however you should note that graduation ceremonies may not be suitable for very young children. Your party may be asked to sit at the end of an aisle or near an exit so that the child can be taken outside should they become restless. There will be no child care or babysitting facility, so children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children aged 5 years or under are not required to pay for a guest ticket, however if they require their own seat, a ticket must be requested for them.
Photography and DVD
Graduation is an exciting and memorable time for both you and your family. To mark the occasion, Heriot-Watt University has arranged for professional photographers and videographer to be present at the Graduation Ceremony to provide you with lasting memories of this special day. On Arrival
Graduands and guests must arrive at the venue at least two hours before the start of their ceremony to register and collect guest tickets.
Graduand Registration
Graduand registration will take place at the venue. Upon registration, graduands will receive a seating card and must sit in the seat number given.
Guest Ticket Collection
Guest tickets will be available for collection at the venue. No guest tickets will be sent out in advance of the ceremony.Gown Collection
Gown collection will take place at the venue. Details of time and room for collection will be available in due course.
Graduation Ceremony
Graduands and guests must be seated at 10.30am for the 11am ceremony and at 6.30pm for the 7pm ceremony. Late comers will not be permitted to enter.
Heriot-Watt University will use its best endeavours to keep to the scheduled dates and venues for graduation ceremonies. However, due to circumstances outside the control of the University ceremonies may be delayed, relocated to another venue or postponed. Where this occurs Heriot-Watt University is not responsible for any inconvenience or costs that may be occasioned by such event.
