Academic Registry: Examinations

Overview

The Academic Registry is responsible for implementing and developing procedures relating to examination processes for students within the University including the following:

  • preparing undergraduate examination timetables in accordance with University regulations
  • providing guidance to invigilators on examinations regulations and procedures
  • nomination of chief invigilators
  • making arrangements in respect of students taking examinations off-campus
  • establishing world-wide examination centres for distance-learning examinations
  • organising and monitoring the examination and assessment results process
  • monitoring and developing examinations procedures
  • processing applications for examination re-assessments
  • co-ordinating the issue of assessment results letters
  • co-ordinating special examination arrangements for students with special needs
  • producing bi-annual reports on student progress to grant awarding authorities
