Student Appeals

Information for students and staff on the academic appeals processes are contained in the Guidelines on Student Academic Appeal Procedures. Data on appeals processed in specific academic sessions are collated within the Academic Registry and published for information in the Student Services Annual Strategic Planning Reports.

Complaints from Students of the University

Students can access a copy of the Heriot-Watt University Student Complaints Procedure below for information. Students who may wish to make a complaint should download and print a copy of the Student Complaint Form. A downloadable copy of the Student Complaint Monitoring form, to be completed by the student's Head of School or Institute is also available. Data on complaints received in specific academic sessions are collated within the Academic Registry and published for information in the Student Services Annual Strategic Planning Reports

Complaints from Members of the Public

The University has a General Complaints Procedures for members of the public who wish to raise a complaint or any other issue of concern about the institution. Any and all correspondence from members of the public should be raised only using the procedures set out in this policy.
