It showed how to successfully employ social media to engage with the world beyond academia.Katarzyna Przbycien, Heriot-Watt Engage Coordinator
Heriot-Watt Engage Coordinator, Mrs Katarzyna Przybycien who had co-organised this year's competition with HW Engage colleague, Dr Laura Wicks, said, "The winning projects showcased a great variety of public engagement activities and yet again proved how Heriot-Watt research is shaped by and impacts on the public through work with schools, public institutions, professionals, or press. It also showed how to successfully employ social media to engage with the world beyond academia".
The Principal's Public Engagement award is now in its third year and was set up by Professor Steve Chapman to recognise an individual or team’s ability to reach new public audiences not already engaged with research.
