To all staff and students using their own devices to attach to the Heriot-Watt wireless service at the Edinburgh Campus.
Due to ongoing issues experienced by some users authenticating to the "eduroam" service, Information Services have released a test service called "eduroam_Test" which will hopefully provide a far more stable and robust platform.
Before deploying this service fully, Information Services wish to run a large scale field trial with as many staff and students using it as possible. Recent trials in the Earl Mounbatten Building have been very promising.
If you wish to join this new service, please choose either "hw-web" or "guest" from your wireless networks options and click on the link for "Xpressconnect" on the portal page. Select "eduroam_Test" from the list and follow the instructions.
You must use your HW account and password which may not be the one used previously for Eduroam (This can be changed at http://my.hw.ac.uk/passwords)
You must use the full username@hw.ac.uk format.
