Do you know an exceptional student who deserves to be recognised for their initiative?
The University's alumni association awards an annual student prize to recognise achievement other than academic. Past winners, for example, have overcome disability, been involved in community activities and contributed to extracurricular projects.
Last year's winner was nominated by Dr Pauline Thompson, SBE, who said that, "We were delighted that one of our students won The Watt Club Prize this year. It was a hard choice with so many excellent students but I nominated Heather primarily for the community spirit she adds to her classes, the School and the University. She makes an excellent ambassador for Heriot-Watt."
Heather was awarded her prize at a graduation ceremony in November and was able to invite her family to share in the celebration. She says that having the prize on her CV has brought interest from employers, showing the value they place on personal skills and other achievements.
To nominate a Heriot-Watt student (regardless of year or subject of study), please complete the application form by 5pm on Thursday 25 April 2013.
