The Heriot-Watt Staff Golf Club held its summer outing at Kirkcaldy Golf Course on Wednesday 3rd of July. There was a good turnout, the weather was very good and the course in fine condition.

10 players played in the morning competing for the Campbell Cup with 12 players playing in the afternoon stableford competition for the Summer Cup. We also welcomed two new members for this meeting, Lynsey O'Brien and Dr Ann-Marie Fuller.

Campbell Cup winners

The Campbell Cup winners was Angus MacDonald with a net score of 68. Iain Brotherston was runner up with a net score of 72.

Summer Cup winners

Jim Leslie won the Summer Cup with a score of 38 stableford points. The runner up was Lynsey O'Brien with a very credible score of 36 points.

There were three fun prizes in the afternoon. Closest to the hole winners were Brian Dean and Derek Brown. Derek also won the longest drive prize.

We would also like to pass on our congratulations to Agnes Cosgrove who recently won the Harburn Golf Club Ladies B Club Championship.

East V West Match – Friday 2 August

We are still looking for more members to join the combined Heriot-Watt-Edinburgh University team for the annual East V West Match (Edinburgh & Heriot-Watt against Glasgow & Strathclyde)

The format for the day is:
• Breakfast (8:00am) followed by four balls at Ross Priory shotgun start in the morning
• Lunch - soup and sandwiches at Ross Priory
• Eight singles matches in the afternoon at The Carrick (played in four balls)
• The cost is £75

Heriot- Watt V Newcastle University – Tuesday 20 August

The annual match between Heriot-Watt University and Newcastle University has been organised for Tuesday 20th August at Goswick Links. We are looking for a team of 12 to participate.

• The morning round is a Greensomes format
• The afternoon round is a four ball better ball format
• Morning coffee, soup and sandwiches before the afternoon round and a two course meal in the evening
• The cost for the day is £53.00
