With five weeks left to go, we currently have an overall response rate of 70.7%, which is similar to the rate at this time last year (70.6%). There are still 375 NSS eligible students who have not yet responded.
Response Rates by Department / Discipline
- Sport & Exercise Science remains in first place and is the first department to reach 100% participation
- Urban Studies has leapfrogged to second place with a rate of 96%, up from 67% and 16th place last week
- Chemistry is in third place with a response rate of 92%
- Civil Engineering (90%), Languages (88%) and Actuarial Maths and Stats (87%) are not far behind
Furthermore, the following departments have already exceeded their final response rate of last year:
- Sport & Exercise Science – currently 100% v final 2012 80%
- Languages – currently 88% v final 2012 75%
- Architectural Engineering – currently 76% v final 2012 60%
- Civil Engineering – currently 90% v final 2012 79%
- Construction Management & Surveying – currently 76% v final 2012 73%
- Urban Studies – currently 96% v final 2012 93%
- Computer Science – currently 67% v final 2012 56%
- Actuarial Maths & Stats – currently 87% v final 2012 83%
However, some still have a response rate of less than 50%:
- Physics 32% (compared to 70% at the same time last year)
- Combined Studies in EPS 47%
Incentives / Prize Draws
NSS eligible students in the following departments, all of which have a response rate of over 70%, will be entered into the prize draw for their school for £100 graduation ball tickets / cash: Urban Studies (* NEW *), Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management & Surveying, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, EECE, Biology, Psychology, Sport & Exercise Science, Economics, Languages, Actuarial Maths & Statistics, and Mathematics.
In addition, NSS eligible students in any department which reaches a 60% response rate will automatically receive a £10 print quota.
