Principal's Public Engagement Prize

Date:

The deadline for applying for the Principals Public Engagement Prize is 14 June 2013.

Now in its 3rd year, the prize recognises an individual or team’s ability to reach new audiences not already engaged with research, demonstrating a lasting impact on the public. This year, we also encourage PhD students to enter in their own category.

Prizes

The best applications from each category will be put forward for the main prize. The winning entry will receive £1500 funding towards future public engagement activities. Three runners-up prizes of £500 each will also be awarded. Further information is available here

Of the award, Principal, Professor Steve Chapman, said ‘This is a great initiative that will support the unsung, public engaging work that academics do, that often goes unnoticed, as they endeavour to share their exciting and innovative thinking with public audiences. If their experiences encourage others to engage, this will be of immense benefit to everyone at Heriot-Watt. I hope that many people will enter this competition.’
