Response rates - week six
We're now into the sixth week of NSS 2013 and we currently have an overall response rate of 62.9%. Thanks to everyone who has compelted the survey.
Response Rates by Department / Discipline
We are continuing to see excellent response rates in many departments / disciplines:
Chemistry and Actuarial Maths & Statistics are joint first, both with a response rate of 86%
Civil Engineering and Languages are in joint third place (with a rate of 85%) this is a 9% increase for Languages since last week, watch out Chemistry and AMS
Furthermore, the following departments have already exceeded their final response rate of last year:
Sport & Exercise Science currently 81.5% v final 2012 80%
Languages currently 85% v final 2012 75%
Architectural Engineering currently 76% v final 2012 60%
Civil Engineering currently 85% v final 2012 79%
Construction Management & Surveying currently 74% v final 2012 73%
Actuarial Mathematicss & Statisticss currently 86% v final 2012 83%
However, some still have a response rate of less than 50%:
Physics 21% (compared to 57% at the same time last year)
Combined Studies in EPS 33%
Combined Studies in SML 47%
Management at SBC 42%
Incentives / Prize Draws
NSS eligible students in the following departments, all of which have a response rate of over 70%, will be entered into the prize draw for their school for £100 graduation ball tickets / cash: Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Sport & Exercise Science, Economics, Languages, Actuarial Maths & Statistics, and Mathematics.
In addition, NSS eligible students in the following departments will automatically receive a £10 print quota for reaching a 60% response rate: Architectural Engineering (*New*),Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Psychology, Sport & Exercise Science, Economics, Languages (*New*), Actuarial Maths & Statistics, and Mathematics.
