The Network maintenance scheduled for this weekend will disable access to most of our IT services.
In particular please note: 09:00 on Saturday 13 until 09:00 on Sunday 14 April
STUDENT IT ACCOUNTS
- ALL student IT accounts will be disabled while the hardware and software upgrades take place
- Please ensure that you log out before 09:00 BST on Saturday (otherwise work may be lost)
- This will affect all staff and student PCs across the Edinburgh campus (this includes the library and the PC Labs)
STAFF IT ACCOUNTS
- Staff accounts, although not disabled, will also be affected
- Please do not log in to your HWU account during this time as access to services will be erratic
Sunday 14 April
The system should be considered at risk on Sunday. If you are using the system, please ensure that you save your work regularly.
Please also note:
In addition to IT services on-campus not being available, access to some of our e-resources from off-campus will also be affected - those that require user authentication through HWU e.g. Web of Knowledge or SciFinder.
We apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused but the benefits of the maintenance will outweigh any short term difficulties. This particular weekend was selected as many students are still on holiday resulting in relatively low usage of our services.
