Twenty-three members of staff from all schools and the library graduated from the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) in June at the Edinburgh Campus. Congratulations to all of them. Without doubt, our students have benefited from the hard work of the academic staff involved.

The programme, which was re-designed last year, received a lot of positive feedback from the current cohort, such as:

"As a student having just completed the first year of the PGCAP programme, I can honestly say that I have been impressed by the team's professionalism and the enthusiasm for the subject. Of particular note has been the clear definition of ‘core’ versus ‘optional’ components, allowing those of us with a high teaching load to manage our time effectively. I look forward to the second half of a very valuable programme."

Feedback on the programme

The increased flexibility in the programme was appreciated, and participants commented on the quality of the feedback and of the support and enthusiasm of the teaching staff. The external examiner noted that the programme was running well and the participants seemed happy with the recent changes, which have been positively received.
