Allen McTernan Memorial Fund

Date:

The Allen McTernan Memorial Fund is to fund and support projects that broaden Students' experience. One award of £1,000 and a number of smaller funds will be awarded in May 2013 from the appeal fund established by the University and Heriot-Watt University Association of University Teachers in memory of Allen J McTernan (1932-1989).

Applications are open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students who will be continuing with their studies following the time the activity is being undertaken. Projects should be undertaken and a brief report submitted before the end of the next academic session. Grants are intended to support educational, scientific, cultural, and recreational activities of an extra-curricular nature but must not be directly related to University studies. Projects are especially welcome where the local community is involved or international co-operation is envisaged.

The application form can be found here or from Jacqui Stewart, Academic Registry Administrator, Academic Registry, Room G.10, Lord Balerno Building, Edinburgh Campus, Telephone: 00 44 131-451-3369 or Email J.Stewart@hw.ac.uk.

Applicants are also requested to submit, along with this form, a statement from their Head of School confirming that they are making satisfactory progress with their studies and that, after completion of their Project, they are expected to be continuing members of the University. Please return completed forms no later than Wednesday 8 May 2013.

Awards will be announced by the end of May/beginning of June 2013.
