Sustainable Development: Infrastructure Challenges and Solutions

Heriot-Watt's Annual Industry Day will take place on the 26th February 2013. Keynote speaker Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, Nobel prize winner Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chairperson of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on whose behalf he accepted the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, has been announced as keynote speaker for the Heriot-Watt University Industry Day 2013.

He has also been the director general of TERI (The Energy Resources Institute), a research and policy organization in India, and chancellor of TERI University as well as being the chairman of the governing council of the National Agro Foundation (NAF) and is the chairman of the board of Columbia University's International Research Institute for Climate and Society. Dr Pachauri has been outspoken about climate change. He is now serving as the head of Yale's Climate and Energy Institute (YCEI).Event Sessions

This day-long event will focus on sustainability and the issues surrounding Sustainable Development. Speakers from a range of prominent industrial and governmental authorities as well speakers from Heriot-Watt University, giving an academic perspective.

The day will consist of four parallel sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Delegates will be asked to pick which two they would like to attend.The parallel plenary sessions are as follows -
