Centre for Finance and Investment 4th Annual Debate: What Now for QE?

CFI 4th Annual Debate

The Centre for Finance and Investment (CFI) in association with the CFA Society of the UK are proud to present the CFI 4th Annual Debate: What Now for Quantitative Easing (QE)?

About the debate

Quantitative Easing has been an important aspect of monetary policy in the USA, UK, and more recently in Japan since the global financial crisis.

Four financial experts with strong and sometimes contrasting views on QE will debate this controversial subject at the CFI 4th Annual Debate.

Russell Napier and David Cobham will argue that Quantitative Easing was necessary in response to the financial crisis but is no longer sufficient. Robin Angus and Bill Jamieson will argue that Quantitative Easing was a mistake. Each of the speakers will talk for about 10 to 15 minutes and will give their views on the way forward for UK monetary policy and the financial markets. This will be followed by a panel question and answer session.

Date

Tuesday 8th October 2013 at 6.30 pm.

Tea and coffee will be available from 6.00 pm and there will be a wine reception after the debate.

Venue

Cairn Auditorium, Postgraduate Centre, Heriot-Watt University
