Professor Robert Craik

Bob, as he is fondly known, was previously the Deputy Principal for Learning and Teaching at Heriot- Watt University in Edinburgh where he had specific responsibility for leading and implementing the learning and teaching strategy for the University and for academic quality assurance as well as a wider role in University Management.

Before taking up key leadership responsibilities, Bob was a Professor in the School of Built Environment where his main interests were in building acoustics and vibration. He was head of the acoustics laboratory with a particular interest in developing theoretical models for predicting sound transmission in complex structures such as buildings, ships and aircrafts.

Bob loves the Malaysian sunshine and his favourite Malaysian meal is a bowl of spicy curry laksa.

An accountant by training, Janice is a member of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia. She started her career as an external auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia. She joined the education industry after she was employed to set up the Internal Audit Department at the corporate office of the Taylor’s Education Group, a Malaysian private higher education group offering education from pre-school to postgraduate studies.

She moved on to head the academic services portfolio at Taylor’s Business School and then the Academic Services and Registry for tertiary programmes at Taylor’s.

Prior to joining Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, she was the Registrar of Taylor’s University, Malaysia.

Jessie Teo

A mass communication graduate, Jessie started her career in the education industry as the Country Manager responsible for the student recruitment from the Asia Pacific region and managing six Malaysian regional offices for the Raffles Education Group, Singapore.

Prior to joining Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, Jessie was the Marketing and Administration Manager of the South East Asian Regional Office of Sheffield Hallam University.

Madeleine Tan

Until recently, Madeleine was the International Marketing Director for one of the largest gaming companies in the world, where she was in charge of new markets development for the lottery sector. With considerable international experience across 40+ countries, she has been involved in several major start-ups.

Prior to the gaming industry, Madeline was the Programme Director (International) at the University of Western Australia, and was instrumental to starting up the Graduate School of Management’s MBA programs in Singapore and Indonesia.

Madeleine looks forward to engaging with students and partnering with a wide range of industry as part of the team that brings this exciting and ambitious international campus to Malaysia.

Nor Israwani has more than 10 years of secretarial experience having worked in Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia. During her employment with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia, she was appointed as Personal Assistant to the High Commissioner for Malaysia in Canada and was posted in Ottawa, Canada for 3 years. In 2006, she was awarded the 'Excellence Service Award' by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for organising the celebration of Malaysia 50th anniversary of Independance in Ottawa, Canada.

She holds a diploma in Secretarial Science from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and is currently pursuing a degree in Mass Communication in the same university
