Welcome to the May 2007 issue (#150) of the Internet Resources Newsletter. 150 Not Out! - That's not bad at all. This newsletter has now been published since way back in October 1994, and Marion, Catherine and myself would like to thank you for your support and encouragement over the years.

In this issue there's the usual collection of links to Internet-related material, a number of blogs of interest are noted, and you'll also find details of some music festivals for the summer, etc.

The Depot

The Depot is currently being finalised and is at the field testing stage. The service will be launched in June 2007.

PRESS RELEASES

**** Funding worth more than £15m announced ****

Over 80 projects, totalling more than £15m, have been successful in the latest round of funding under JISC's capital programme, it was announced on 30th March.  

The projects are being funded under e-learning, repositories and preservation, e-infrastructure, users and innovation, and e-research strands of the overarching programme, which represents an investment of some £90m over three years. The call for proposals was issued in September of last year, the second of three under the programme.

Among the e-learning projects to be funded are those that will explore administrative processes to support admissions and course validations and develop automated course descriptions. Other projects in this strand will look at a variety of themes, including e-assessment, e-portfolios andThe heaviest investment in the current round of funding is being made in support of the establishment and development of institutional repositories personalised learning.
