On the 9th April I will be taking part in a TALiSMAN (Teaching And Learning in Scottish Metropolitan Area Networks) seminar about Networked Information Resources for Teaching and Learning. TALiSMAN, which is funded by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, was established to support the use of teaching and learning in the Scottish Metropolitan Area Networks. The aim of TALiSMAN is to deliver a national staff development programme to Scottish Higher Education which "promotes and enables: the effective and efficient use of the MANs, the integration of networking technology into teaching and learning, the application of network based learning methods in teaching and learning." It is therefore a very important project for the higher education community in Scotland. I can recommend a visit to the TALiSMAN web site, where there is a large amount of information about the project and its work, various reports and evaluations, and a TALiSMAN Events Guide
This issue of the Internet Resources Newsletter is appearing earlier than usual because the editor, Roddy MacLeod, will be away for a few weeks. In his absence, Linda Kerr (L.Kerr@hw.ac.uk) from EEVL (Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library), will trawl the net for relevant resources for the May issue.
