Where do we find the new Internet resources which are listed in each issue of this newsletter? Well, details of quite a few are sent to the editors via the Submit new resources submission form. These are always filtered so that only the ones of interest to students, academics, engineers, scientists and social scientists are included in the next issue. Some press releases are also sent to the editors, and these too are filtered. Then, each day, we sift through over 1,000 new resources which are announced at the What's New Too! site, and do the same with the What's New in the UK site. There are numerous other announcing services which are also checked, including NetHappenings, The Scout Report, UK Index What's New, UK Yellow Web: What's New, etc. Then there are Newsgroups such as comp.infosystems.www.announce and scot.announce and mailing lists such as lis-scitech and newjour.
A number of resources are also gleaned from printed publications, such as the Financial Times, the Internet Magazine, Information World Review, Ground Engineering, Electronics Weekly, Chemical Engineering Progress, plus various other ones which have been mentioned in previous issues of this newsletter. A list of over 50 places to look for new resources featured in a recent article in the print publication Vine. In case you want to follow this up, the full reference is:
