Eurostat
The main source of statistics relating to the EU and its members.
Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union situated in
Luxembourg. Its task is to provide the European Union with
statistics at European level that enable comparisons between
countries and regions. To produce these statistics, Eurostat
collects data from the national
statistical institutes and harmonises them according to a single
methodology. The data is therefore comparable
for the
European Union as a whole.

National Accounts of OECD Countries (online publications and database)
With the exception of Quarterly National Accounts data, all data is
annual, time period covered is from 1970 where available.
Volume I - Main Aggregates
Covers expenditure based GDP, output based GDP, income based GDP,
disposable income, saving and net lending, population and employment.
It includes also comparative tables based on exchange rates and comparative tables based on purchasing power parities. Data are shown for 30 OECD countries expressed in national currency, but also in US dollars for gross domestic product and household final consumption expenditure back to 1985. These data are based on the System of National Accounts 1993 (1993 SNA) for all countries.
Detailed Tables, Volume II
Covers (in addition to main aggregates) detailed national accounts
data for most OECD countries. It includes detailed breakdowns by kind of
activity for gross value added (current and constant prices, 2000
reference year), components of value added, gross fixed capital
formation and employment. It also includes final consumption expenditure
of households by purpose, simplified accounts for three main sectors
(general government, corporations and households) and general government
expenditure by function.
These data are based on the System of National Accounts 1993 (1993 SNA) for all countries.
Vol. IIIa: Financial Accounts - Flows and Vol. IIIb: Financial
Balance Sheets - Stocks
Volume IIIa covers financial accounts of 23 OECD countries and
includes financial transactions (both net acquisition of financial
assets and net incurrence of liabilities) by institutional sector
(non-financial corporations, financial corporations, general government,
households and non -profit institutions serving households, total
economy and the rest of the world) and by financial operation.
Volume IIIb covers financial balance sheets of 21) OECD countries and includes financial stocks (both financial assets and liabilities), by institutional sector (non-financial corporations, financial corporations, general government, households and non- profit institutions serving households, total economy and rest of the world) and by financial instrument.
Quarterly National Accounts
Spans the last 14 years and contains a selection of the accounts
most widely used for economic analysis: GDP by type of expenditure and
by kind of activity, gross fixed capital formation by sector and by type
of goods, and private final consumption by type of expenditure and by
object are all shown at both current and constant prices. Financing of
capital formation and GDP by cost structure at current prices are also
provided.

An Economic Survey is published every 1˝-2 years for each OECD
country. Economic Assessments are also published for accession and
enhanced engagement countries. Each survey or assessment identifies the
main economic challenges faced by the country and analyses policy
options to meet them.

publishes articles in the area of economic policy analysis, applied
economics, and statistical analysis, generally with an international or
cross-country dimension.
Economic Policy Reform: Going for growth (online journal)
Provides an overview of structural policy developments in OECD
countries from a comparative perspective. Based on a broad set of
indicators of structural policies and performance.
Journal of Business Cycle Measurement (online journal)
The aim of the journal is the exchange of knowledge and information
on the theory and operation of business and economic cycle research,
including both statistical measurement and analytical aspects. The scope

Europe
Eurostat: Transport
The statistics cover EU traffic (in vehicle-kilometres or VKM) and
EU transport (passenger-kilometres (PKM) or tonne-kilometres (TKM))
by the individual modes: road, rail, pipeline, inland waterway, sea
and air. Some data collections date back to 1980, others are more
recent. Most of them are based on legislation applied by the EU
Member States, the EFTA countries and – at least partially – by some
candidate countries. Others are based on voluntary agreements. The
data on goods transport (TKM) are the most complete and accurate.
Aggregated statistics are also available on enterprises, employment,
infrastructure and means of transport, while a multilingual glossary
of transport statistics is maintained and developed in collaboration
with two international partners (the UNECE and the ITF) in order to
promote common definitions and concepts both inside the EU and
beyond.
