Library Committee
The Library Committee is a Committee of
Senate, the
supreme academic body of the University. It normally meets
three times a year. Members are appointed by Senate on the
recommendation of the Schools and Postgraduate Institutes.
Terms of reference
- (a) To consider general library policy and to advise the Senate and the Librarian thereon as
- To scrutinise and make observations on the annual budget estimates.
- To inform the Senate on the administration of the Library.
Composition
- Principal, ex officio
- Vice-Principal, ex officio
- University Librarian, ex officio
- Deputy Librarian, ex officio
- One senior member of academic staff who shall be the Chair
- One senior representative nominated from each of the six Schools and two Postgraduate Institutes, One deputy representative nominated from each of the six Schools and two Postgraduate Institutes
- Two students, including one postgraduate student, appointed by the Senate on the nomination of the Council of the Students Association
