Newly published books

The New books section of the Library Catalogue lists new items added to all parts of Heriot-Watt University Library. The InformS blog also features recent new books in the Library.  Various publishers list their newly published titles.

Newly published articles and conference proceedings

There are various ways to receive automatic notification (e.g. by email or RSS) of new work that has been published in your area of research:

Articles which match your specified keywords

Save your search criteria and receive notification when new articles, which match that criteria, are added to the database.  Different databases allow different saved searches e.g. keywords, author etc.  Have a look at the database list  - choose your database, save your search (you usually need to register) and then wait for updates to be sent.

Table of contents from a particular journal

If you are accessing a particular journal we subscribe to online, you are usually able to register your details so that you are automatically sent  the table of contents for every new issue of that title.  A full list of our journal titles is given in the A-Z list of journal titles or you can search the Library Catalogue for a particular title.

Table of contents from a range of different journals
There are also services which allow you to receive the Table of Contents of several journals at once e.g. JournalTocs and Zetoc.
