Welcome to the Organisational Development website.

At Heriot-Watt we believe learning and development is vital to the University's success. As an employee, whether you're working independently or in a team, you'll be supported towards developing your skills and knowledge through a wide range of opportunities in our development programme.

We provide a range of learning interventions including courses, workshops, briefings, e-learning, coaching and action learning sets open to all staff at Heriot-Watt. The OD team is also available to develop tailored development programmes, facilitate away days, workshops or focus groups and tools for self development.

Our development programme is continually evolving to make sure we meet the needs of staff and teams. More information on the current development programme can be found in a our recent brochure (pdf) or by clicking on the course titles below, all training detailed on this page is free to Heriot-Watt University staff.

Booking your place

If you would like to reserve a place on one of our upcoming workshops, please email organisational.development@hw.ac.uk. Upon receiving your request, we will keep your name on a waitlist, as soon as we have enough participants to run a training programme, we will contact everyone on the waitlist to schedule a suitable date.
