The accommodation service allocates places on campus. There are approximately 4,500 students studying at Heriot-Watt's Edinburgh campus and just over 1800 residential places are available. The majority of these places are allocated to new students. The Edinburgh Conference Centre provides 165 ensuite rooms during term time for visitor accommodation which have a VisitScotland rating of 2 star. During the vacation periods the choice of accommodation on campus extends to over 900 ensuite rooms. HW-ResNet provides every student bedroom on the Edinburgh Campus with an 'always on', high-performance, network connection offering Internet, email and access to your NetStorage area on the PC Caledonia network. Every room also has a telephone with a pre-paid billing service which can be used to make and receive calls on and off campus.
Heriot-Watt University's online payments facility is available so that fees and International Deposits for postgraduate students can be paid quickly and efficiently by credit or debit card.

Student Support and Accommodation provides a counselling service covering personal matters.
