inequalities is a major challenge. Our Equality and Diversity
Advisor, Sharan Virdee takes
a lead role in making sure that equality and diversity is a primary
consideration throughout the University.
Heriot-Watt

establish and maintain an open and accessible working and learning
environment where students and staff are able to reach their full
potential.

*** RESEARCH EXCELLENCE FRAMEWORK 2014***
The University is currently taking forward work on the Research Excellence Framework 2014 submission. The 'REF' is the system for assessing the quality of research in UK Higher Education Institutions. Equality and Diversity is built into the REF process via the University's Code of Practice of the Selection of Staff. The Code of Practice can be found here
