Association of British Oil and Gas Exploration companies (Brindex) - The Association seeks to promote the role played by British independent exploration and production companies. Site contains a useful overview of this sector of the oil and gas industry, and also includes a list of member companies
Cogent - The Sector Skills Council for the oil and gas extraction, chemicals manufacturing and petroleum industries. The site includes links to profiles in the industry and links to oil and gas companies.
Department of Trade and Industry - Oil and Gas Directorate - Government Department covering oil and gas exploration, production, refining and marketing. Site contains useful background information about the industry.

Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) - The Society provides the means for collection, dissemination, and exchange of technical information concerning the development of oil and gas resources. The site has a good careers section.
UK Petroleum Industry Association (UKPIA) - Represents the oil refining and marketing industry in the United Kingdom . Site contains lots of useful information about current issues in the petroleum industry.
UK Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) - The representative organisation for the UK offshore oil and gas industry. Its members are companies licensed by the Government to explore for and produce oil and gas in UK waters. Site also includes in formation about its Graduate Attraction Scheme.
