SURVEYING EXPERIENCE

Duties include arranging surveys, assisting on site inspections, logging reports and researching suitable comparison. Types of properties surveyed included residential, commercial and industrial. Type of survey involved Mortgage Valuation Report and Homebuyers' Survey and Valuation Report.

The type of projects I worked on as a Joiner were very varied and included high quality housing, industrial units, commercial premises and civil engineering contracts. The experience gained from these projects led to my interest and I believe the practical "hands on" experience I gained during that period would be beneficial to a potential employer.

INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES

I am very keen on sport, particularly football, golf, fishing and shooting.

  • Play football at amateur level and have captained my team for the last two seasons, gaining league promotion in consecutive years as well as winning a tournament in Portugal.
  • Currently on my local Clay Pigeon Shoot Club Committee, which involved helping to organise and run events for charities.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Chosen to represent my university in a Property Portfolio competition (1997), sponsored by surveying company, which took place in London. Previous to this, I was chosen to represent the Glasgow College of Building and Printing at an Institute of Building Competition in 1994.
  • Student member of the RICS and ISVA at present.
  • Currently hold a clean driving licence.
  • Computer literate in both Lotus 1-2-3 and Word for Windows.
  • Teamworking ability developed through education, employment and leisure activities.
  • Good organisational and planning skills enable me to meet deadlines and targets.
  • A high standard of verbal and written communication skills have been demonstrated on work experience placements.
